G4 Assurance – is it leading to greater transparency?

Many companies are struggling not only with the transition from G3 to G4 but also with the new ‘assurance column’ in the G4 Content Index, which was intended to make assurance more transparent. This report, based on research of more than 300 G4 reports, was launched on 14th November 2014 at the 8th Ethical Corporation CR Reporting and Communications Summit  in London and provides some insight into how G4 assurance is shaping up. It outlines some of the challenges of G4 assurance, examples of discrepancies between the G4 Content Index and the Assurance Statement as well as providing some assurance tips for reporters as they move to G4 reporting in 2015.
