ERM CVS announces the commencement of a third-party independent assessment of Anglo American’s Mototolo/ Der Brochen Platinum Mine against the Initiative for Responsible Mining (IRMA) Standard for Responsible Mining. The Mine is located in the Limpopo Province, South Africa. ERM CVS, an IRMA-approved certification body, will carry out an on-site assessment from 6-11 December 2021.
Stakeholders are invited to be part of the assessment process and submit written comment to ERM CVS on the environmental and social performance of the Mototolo/ Der Brochen Mine (in particular, how the performance of the Mine site compares with the IRMA Standard for Responsible Mining). Stakeholders may also contact ERM CVS if they would like to be interviewed as part of the assessment process. When possible, interviews with local stakeholders will be scheduled to take place during the on-site audit and may be virtual or in-person, taking into consideration COVID-19 precautions.
