Announcement - IRMA Assessments South Africa

Due to the rapidly changing circumstances in S. Africa during the week of 22 November involving the reporting of a new COVID variant and subsequent travel bans to S. Africa, ERM CVS, IRMA, and Anglo American determined that in the interest of safety we would postpone the on-site audits for the following Anglo American mines: Amandelbult, Mototolo, Sishen, and Kolomela.

A modest amount of virtual auditing has been performed during the initially scheduled weeks; on-site audits including engagement with external stakeholders, is expected to be rescheduled in the coming months, provided no further situations arise that present unacceptable risk. Please watch this notice page for an update on the rescheduled audit dates.

The audit of the Anglo American Barro Alto mine in Brazil proceeded as planned with no changes to the schedule.

If you wish to participate in these audits in the future when they are rescheduled, you are welcome to submit a request to [email protected]
